Professional Profile:
Dr. Howell has dedicated over 20 years to developing her clinical practice and leadership skills. The majority of Dr. Howell's career has been in the school-based setting, however, she has experience in the areas of hand therapy, work hardening, aquatic therapy, traumatic brain injury. Dr. Howell has been a fieldwork supervisor for level I and level II OT and OTA students throughout her career. Dr. Howell has sought out opportunities to develop higher education teaching skills; she has taught prospective birth to three teachers during their field experience at University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Howell regularly seeks out leadership roles that range from department level to administration level for learning and advocacy opportunities. Most recently, Dr. Howell has opened her own practice to support pediatric patients and their families within their communities. Dr. Howell graduated in 2002 from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Occupational Therapy. She has also earned her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy from Quinnipiac University with an emphasis in higher education.
